MATURING IN LOVE
The 2018 theme for Ariel Family Church of Love (AFCL) is “ MATURING IN LOVE”. From the very inception of this church a core part of its mandate was to bring RESTORATION, HEALING AND DELIVERANCE TO FAMILIES. Undoubtedly many of the problems that have plagued families can trace their roots to a lack of love. As the love deteriorates among family members so too does the unity and respect between its members. Homes have been ravaged by bitterness, strife, anger, malice just to name a few. People are recognizing more and more that having an healthy family and an Happy home are things worth pursuing.Since the start of the year God has been showing the members of AFCL the importance of being a truly loving church. The message of love is more relevant now than it has ever been in previous generations as we are living in the days predicted in Matthew 24 verse 12. The days when the love of many shall wax cold. We need only to turn on our news channels or read our local newspapers to see the cold-hearted things being done in this world. Nevertheless these atrocities have not taken God by surprise and this is one of the main reasons He is reviving the message of His great love. This same God who loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for it, really does care for this lost and dying world. Throughout the Bible we are admonished to show love to God and to each other. In fact the Lord Jesus Christ taught his disciples that love was the hallmark for recognizing one of his true disciples when he said in John 13 verse 34-35 “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” We also see truth being constantly attacked. People with itching ears would rather cleave to lies rather than hear the truth but the Bible says we are to speak the truth in love. My fellow readers understand that the message of love will never lose its significance. The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ is the embodiment of Love and He desires for us to be conformed to the image and the likeness of His Son Jesus Christ. Let us continue to walk in the love taught to us by our Lord Jesus. A love that is not only demonstrated in words but in deeds. Let us be living epistles of the words of the Apostle John when he said in 1st John 4 verse 16-17 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.”
