GOD’S WORDS ARE GREATER THAN PEOPLE’S OPINIONS

Sometime ago I had a conversation with someone where I saw firsthand how the power of truth can destroy long standing strongholds of lies built in a person’s mind. Before my conversation with this individual the Lord spoke very clearly to me months in advance that He is going to increase this person’s confidence. Little did I know the Lord was going to show me a major root cause of the person’s struggle with self-confidence.

As I spoke with the person it became clear that the person was still affected by negative words that were said to the person as a child.

It appears someone compared the person with another individual but the comparison was done in a way that seriously affected the person’s self-confidence and even as an adult the person had not been able to completely overcome that childhood experience.

As I relied on the wisdom of God to guide me in knowing what to say to this person I said “I have two questions for you”.

“This person that made the comparison, telling you you were not like so and so has this person ever been wrong in something the person said?” The answer was yes.

So I said “why do you assume that someone who is not always right was right about you when the person compared you to someone else?”

Then I asked “ the person that you were compared to where is that person now in life ?” As the conversation continued I found out that person was not even doing much in life and did not even have some of the accomplishments of the one that was struggling with self-confidence. Years before that person was lauded as being better than the person I spoke to and now years later the accomplishments are not there to back up the praises that were given.

ONLY GOD’S OPINION IS ALWAYS INFALLIBLE

So often we treat people’s opinions of us like their opinions are set in stone. PEOPLE CAN BE WRONG! Sometimes their words are motivated by anger or “bad mind”. Some people are so insecure that the way they feel good about themselves is to try put down others.

Over the years God has trained me to not put so much value on some people’s opinions but to esteem and hold fast to His thoughts far more than those of fallible people. It has been very easy for me by virtue of my prophetic calling and the fact that God speaks to me regularly and personally. That has greatly helped me to see myself as God sees me.

Don’t be so moved by people’s opinions that years later you are suffering mentally and emotionally by what they said.

Today is your day to BREAK FREE FROM THEIR LIES!

A BIBLICAL EXAMPLE OF HOW PEOPLE CAN CONTRADICT THE VERY THING GOD SAID ABOUT YOU

The Prophet Samuel was a remarkable prophet who walked in such accuracy that it was said of him in his days that God would let NONE OF HIS WORDS FALL TO THE GROUND.

Israel was crying out for a King and Samuel was the one God wanted to use to install this king. Read what God spoke to this VERY ACCURATE Prophet about the future king.

15 Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

16 To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, THAT HE MAY SAVE MY PEOPLE OUT OF THE HAND OF THE PHILISTINES: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

17 And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people. ( 1st Samuel 9:15-17)

God told the prophet that the future King will save his people from the philistines. Now look what the haters them said:

27 But the children of Belial said, HOW SHALL THIS MAN SAVE US? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace. (1st Samuel 10:27)

They said How is someone like him going to save us? The EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT GOD SAID. I love His reaction to their words. HE HELD HIS PEACE. Saul didn’t try to argue with them. He allowed them to run their mouths.

Notice the Bible called them CHILDREN OF BELIAL or children of the DEVIL. You better discern which demon is using people to say what they said about you before you believe them! Don’t let the devil use his agents to fill your mind with lies about yourself!

ITS TIME TO RENEW YOUR MIND

We grew up hearing people say “sticks and stones may break my bones but words cannot hurt me” . It is a LIE. Words can damage you. However you must guard yourself from believing the wrong words. Look into yourself and ask “why have I believed what so and so said about me?”

You may be surprised to see you are holding on to things you should not have even given the time of day. God wants to destroy some strongholds. I pray that as you read this post you will go into a reflective mode and that the Spirit of Truth will MASH DOWN SOME LIES THAT HAVE HELD YOU CAPTIVE! Be free in Jesus’ Name!
